The biggest different so far is libraries that are no longer valid in my project (VCL libraries). Since I just have 2 really large apps in my reservation system, I am rebuilding my projects slowly, one module at a time! Best Regards, Shane |

Well, I got everything ported and running under C Builder XE2!
The only problem is I need to replace EurekaLog as version 7 crashes C Builder XE2 on my machine a LOT! Best Regards, Shane |

John,
| I'm about to do... | | Has anyone experienced any problems? A bunch! But mostly related to 3rd-Party components. My instance of XE2 has one VERY ANNOYING trait -- When I F12 from source editing to form view it takes EFFING FOREVER! <grumble> -- Q 06/11/2012 11:41:57 XanaNews Version 1.19.1.278 [Q'sBrokenToolBar] |

From the feature description: Disable Package Cache (default: off) The RAD Studio IDE caches the component packages and their palette icons into the registry. This cache makes an IDE cold start slightly faster on some computers but has the drawback that the packages must be loaded later when the user opens a project or form. By disabling the cache the IDE start isn’t harmed that much. Actually it could be even faster than with an enabled package cache, depending on your hard disks speed. Thanks guys.
You've sufficiently scared me! ![]() Makes me think I should maybe do a fresh install on a virtual machine and migrate projects one by one. Oh well. Progress sometimes hurts. But that only kicks in once, right? Q is describing something that happens *every* time F12 is pressed. I too am seeing this, even on forms with only a mere handful of standard components, there's a noticeable lag. Something went backwards in XE2. -- Eivind Bakkestuen [NDD] |

Hi Eivind,

All I did was to raise a *possible* fix to a problem someone voiced. If you/they are not willing to try the fix, that is your/their choice - Nothing ventured, nothing gained :-D Cheers, Nick -- Sent from my XanaNews v1.19.1.362 |
