(
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...riclicfaq.mspx ) "Q.What applications are restricted from running on Windows Server 2003, Web Edition? <snip> - Windows Server 2003, Web Edition, is not licensed for use as an enterprise database server. Database server software such as Microsoft SQL ServerT and other non-MSDE-based databases are not supported and may not run on Windows Server 2003, Web Edition." Does anyone know if this means that NexusDB-driven websites cannot run on the WebServer Edition ? What do they mean by "enterprise database server" ? Thanks, JoeH |

What are they saying, if you buy their OS, you can only use their database? I know where I'd direct my consumer choice . . . elsewhere! <g> Lauchlan M |

That's why i said, that you better embed the server. If you want we can make a server binary available that is restricted to 5 clients for running in this environment. Keep in mind though: that means 5 (e.g. isapi) applications at any time only ... -- Hannes Danzl [NexusDB Developer] Newsgroup archive at http://www.tamaracka.com/search.htm |

I'm not worried about ISAPI, I'm worried about getting to NexusDB Server via tcp/ip across the internet for table maintenance... ISAPI embedded servers aren't worth the hassle from a remote maintenance angle, so I switched 2 projects last fall to using Nexus server via remote servers. JoeH |
