Default OT- D2005 and D2006 migration

Anyone installed both on the same machine for migration purposes?

Just wanted to know if they behave when put in the same "room" together.

Also, has anyone had any problems with Nexus and DevExpress products working with D2006?

Thanks for any advice you might have.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi John,

Yes, for about 8 weeks - now have only D2006
installed (finished my own migration) but
they coexisted just fine on my XP Pro laptop.

Happy New year !!

Joe,

Oh, that is great news!

I'm anxious to get started...Looks like they have fixed some of the slowness that D2005 had.

I really appreciate the feedback Joe...Getting the D2006 CD's out of the shrinkwrap right now!

Just measured D2006 form/code toggling (F12) tonite:
from code to form = 5-6 secs
from form to code = 2-3 secs
and thats with tons of third party controls loaded
(was even faster before adding the 3rd parties)

with D2005 it was 50-60 secs and 20-30 secs !

2005 could have used a few updates. It had serious bugs. (Katrina for example)

Oh, were you able to cleanly remove D2005 without affecting D2006? I left it
on, in the fear that I might inadvertently mess up something if I remove it.

I don't know about DevExpress on D2006, but I am using Nexus on D2006 just fine
(had to tweak the packages to get them to compile and install in D2006 but that
was easy).

No problem for me there with Delphi itself - but some
3rd party libs had to be uninstalled, then reinstalled
since few yet have BDS selection options in their
uninstallers...
