Default Visual Studio Pack 235 Crash on GetInsertCommand

New version Visual Studio Pack 235 Crash on GetInsertCommand, version 201 works fine.

NxConnection connection = new NxConnection(connectionString);
connection.Open();

NxDataAdapter adapter = new NxDataAdapter(queryString, connection);
NxCommandBuilder builder = new NxCommandBuilder(adapter);

adapter.InsertCommand = builder.GetInsertCommand();
adapter.UpdateCommand = builder.GetUpdateCommand();
adapter.DeleteCommand = builder.GetDeleteCommand();

DataTable table = new DataTable();
adapter.Fill(table);

That's very strange. I'm not aware of any changes which should affect
GetInsertCommand.

Could you please log the issue in our tracker with a reproducable testcase?

TIA,
Thorsten

Hi there,

What are the differences between those 2 versions ?
-NexusDB_V4_Visual_Studio_Pack_Standard_build235
-NexusDB_V4_ADO_build201

There is no change log on the bug Tracker.

Best regards

The installer and the naming. The installer now contains everything
needed for a full Visual Studio ready product, without requiring any
other licenses or downloads.

We have a beta update with a fix for this problem. We'd like your
feedback on wether it works for you, if you don't mind. Could you
please email support at nexusdb.com to receive it?

Could you please be a bit more specifc?

Did the problem you had in 2015 get fixed then? What happened to make it
reappear now?

Please file an issue in the tracker, with an exact description of what you are
doing, and a complete testcase that reproduces the problem attached.

TIA,
Thorsten

The build 306 fixed this problem, but the build 316, 320, 321 have the same problem. See the attachment to reproduce the problem.

Dynamic SQL generation for the UpdateCommand is not supported against a SelectCommand that does not return any key column information.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Dynamic SQL generation for the UpdateCommand is not supported against a SelectCommand that does not return any key column information.

Your test table doesn't have a PRIMARY KEY

After recreating the test table with this SQL:

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS Test;

/* Create tables ------------------------------------------------------------ */

/* Test */
CREATE TABLE Test
(
CaseID AUTOINC PRIMARY KEY,
UserID VARCHAR(40) NOT NULL,
CaseName VARCHAR(80)
);

CREATE INDEX UserIDIndex ON Test(UserID LOCALE 1033 USE STRING SORT IGNORE
CASE);

INSERT INTO Test(CaseID, UserID) VALUES (48, 'insmark');

Your testcase runs without error.
