OTOH it might be a good thing for your back to stop carrying bags around at the age of... .... you know how old you are ;-) > To buy my toys I shall have to find some other summer work... Honestly, I'll be happily sponsoring one of your toys, NX2 that is. Hey Geoff, don't make the update too expensive!!! ;-) Best regards Stefan |

Or ask the Museum some contribution? Stefan: I haven't got that much money on my own, but I will put smthg into that project. Let me know. ![]() Thanks troops for your kind remarks and offers of generosity. I really
won't need any help with my toys. My post was simply trying to be funny .... I'm just going to have to find something different to do this summer. The golf bag thing was getting thin anyway. The manager was incompetent and didn't like me, and I didn't like him, so much of the fun of it had disappeared ... and my younger son is moving away, and my older son has two new children ... so I don't know who I would play golf with anyway. I just like to keep this group posted ... as the oldest living Nexionian, I believe. And I am damn sure growing older trying to get a handle on this Pervasive junk. By the way, I am no longer terribly worried about .NET. I do think you younger guys should keep up with it just in case ... but the fact that you have to have the framework installed sort of bothers me and makes me question it's long term success. It really does remind me of the UCSD P system which required interpreters to run ... but was platform independent. I really like the everything is in the exe approach we currently have. Deployment is so simple and elegant ... Now if we could only get an inno script to install the server as a serice ... giggle, giggle ... Have a nice day all ... and thank you all from the bottom of my heart or is it the heart of my bottom ... for your great support. I would walk to the end of the earth for any and all of you ... |

I'm on Prince Edward Island / Canada for 3 weeks in September. I'm bringing my golf bag with me. If you like to travel the coast all the way to the north, we can play a round or two. > I just like to keep this group posted ... as the oldest living > Nexionian, I believe. Don't know 'bout Malcolm, he's a pretty mature chap, too. Cheers Stefan |

Since Microsoft will include the framework with the operating system, the long term shouldn't be a problem. The short term is the problem. -- David Marcus [NexusDB Expert] |
