Default Error [$3CA0/15520]

Hi,
One of my customers gets the following error message with an SQL SELECT
query:

NexusDB: WQ: Query excution failed:
<!?Org?!><[--!?ExceptionData$=BwNFRF ...... WcNCgA=?!--]>
[$3CA0/15520]

The function is already old works otherwise with all customers.
What is special about this customer is that he has very large amounts of
data in certain blob fields.

What kind of error is this, how can it be avoided?

Cheers!
Holger

$3CA0 = DBIERR_NX_UNKNOWN

which is used only in very few places and generally indicates something
completely unexpected has happened.

The fact that exception data has visible in the message instead of having been
stripped might be cause by some strange combination of different system ANSI
codepages on client and server which has resulted in the marker bytes used to
identify the exception data to have been mangled.

The fact that exception data has been added to the error at all indicates that
it has been converted from an exception, so there should be a matching entry in
the exception log which might provide further information about the origin of
the problem.

Beyond that, I can't say anything else based on the information provided so far.

Hello Thorsten!
You're saying the problem may be caused by the code page. My customer
lives in Turkey, could that be the reason why the error only occurs with
him? Here I cannot reproduce the error.

Currently i am using an *old* NexusDB version (4,0005 Release (C20) 32bit).
What do you think, could the change to the current version be
worthwhile, is then the problem possibly fixed?

The fact that the error message looks like it does instead of just properly
saying "Unknown Error", may have to do with the code page.

The fact that the error happens at all is less likely to be caused by the code
page.

4.00.05 is a very old version and there is a non-zero chance that whatever the
problem is has been solved since then.

Even if it isn't, at a minimum I would need an exception log generated with the
most current version to have a chance of figuring out what the issue may be.

Cheers,
Thorsten
