Default CF & Blob

Is there a CF-version available (without time limit), that fixes the issues
concerning access to blob-fields?
Can't find it in my customer area.

I'm aware of only one no beta (=non time limited) version of a
"NexusDB.ADOProvider.CF.dll" file. It's dated 2006-03-23 19:15. Any
later version such as the build56 (2008-01-29) doesn't contain the
CF-Version anymore.

The problems where described in a thread "ADO Provider and Blob fields"
2008-01-17 by Dave Sellers. Essentially neither the version that assign
the field to a bytearray nor the usage of a reader allows access to a
blobfield.

Oh sorry. I missed the CF. The CF version was included in the release by
accident. It was highly experimental and never supposed to be released.

As you can see on our roadmap
(http://www.nexusdb.com/support/index.php?q=roadmap) we have it on the list of
items to be released for V3 though.

Sorry for the confusion.

I'm a bit confused. I'm not talking about your plans concerning V3, I'm
talking about V2.
Back in 2005, before I bought the ADO.net provider, I had asked whether
it would be possible to use it with a CF-application and got the answer:
> ... It WILL be a feature of the V2 release ...

Personally you said (2006-01-04)

"Accident", "experimental ", "never supposed to be released"? This would be
completely new to me, as I had already payed for it.

Hm. If you look at our release history and announcements you will find that we
never released anything like it and the last statement regarding CF/Embedded
was from 25/01/2006 confirming the status of an earlier post that said "using
a win32 dll as helper will be a minor update or in a future major version
depends on the time at hand".

That said I can see the emails that I send to you. Please drop me a mail to
hannes at nexusdbdotcom with a small demo app showing the problem. I will of
course honour what I said and get that to work for you.

Also fo what it's worth, there's significant updates scheduled for the .NET
area soon after the V3 initial release. Check the roadmap for more information

Nothing special, just any possibility to access the contents of a blob
field would be fine.

Something like
....
MyData = (byte[])myRow["imgField"];
int ArraySize = new int();
ArraySize = MyData.GetUpperBound(0);
fs.Write(MyData, 0,ArraySize);
....
(from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309158/en-us/)

Ok. I'll try to get a build to you by latest end of the week.

Martin, sorry I got side tracked by an ODBC issue that affects all customers.
I've solved that and will get on to your CF solution later today.

I've sent a CF-provider dll to your private email. Please let me know if that
solves your issues.
