Default Embed Nexus DB in .NET APP

Hi All,

Is this possible to use Nexus DB as an embedded database from a .NET
application? For example, Can it be used the say way SQLite or SQL CE
can be used from .NET application?

If yes, can somebody please provide any pointer to a sample application
on how to use this.

Thanks.

Sanjay

As far as I remember, no, you can't. You need to use a separate nxServer instance for the
ADO.NET provider to work.

What I don't know if could be possible is to create, using the "full" NexusDB library, a
DLL or something like that that could have the database part of your app.

HTH,

No, there's no way to embed the database engine at this point in time.

On the nexus DB website, one of the features mentioned is:
--flexibility of deployment options (c/s or embedded)
http://www.nexusdb.com/support/index.php?q=node/10134

Isn't this mean server can be embedded in the application? Or does it
apply to some select languages and not .NET?

The server can be embedded in Delphi ... but not in .NET

You're mixing two things here. The Delphi NexusDB engine, which this article
refers to, can of course do that. The ADO Provider is a so called connector
for the database to access it in non native ways and as such doesn't provide
all features that the engine can do. That said a DLL based server is planned
(and has actually already been worked on) that will in a later version allow
direct access from ADO.NET without the need to connect to a server.

That would be very nice for web apps running on shared servers..
