Default Quality Suite Trial - Method timer does something weird

Hello bad boys!

I am trying to introduce in the company I work with your Quality Suite product.
I am however having issues, specifically with the Method Timer.
When I click on the option, the Delphi IDE says that the project is read-only and cannot be saved. Which makes me wonder: what does the Method Timer do? Do I need to check the project file out? I would've thought that, in this day and age, having the project file versioned would be common so I am left wondering.

Also, as an aside, I couldn't find any good documentation. Where is it?

Thanks!

I'm assuming you are clicking on Method Timer in the Tools menu of the
Delphi IDE?

In order to work, our tools need the Delphi linker to produce detailed
Map files. This can only happen by changing that linker setting if
needed. I am guessing that your project needs this change.

Our entries in the Tools menu also have the $SAVEALL macro, to do the
obvious thing before starting up our tools. You may have unsaved editor
changes etc, which would mean that if a save was not performed, the
source viewed from within our tool would be different from what was
actually compiled.

I think the short answer is: yes, you should check the project file
out. Afaik, in this day and age, the most commonly used version control
systems don't require files to be read only on disk.

The other option is to manually edit the Tools menu items to remove the
$SAVEALL macro.

Each tool comes with a help file that can be opened from the Help menu,
although the help may not be as extensive as we could wish yet. We will
be releasing a full manual very soon, it is currently in final touchup
stage.
