Default Session Options

I know that I can read a session OPTION via SQL thus

DECLARE vSuspendTriggers BOOL;
SET vSuspendTriggers = (SELECT OPTION('TriggerSuspend') = 'True' FROM #DUMMY);

but is there a way to set the OPTION via SQL ? Nothing I try works, but that's not to say there isn't a way
