Default ANN: StreamSec Secure Shell Tools 3.0.0.248

The latest version of StreamSec Secure Shell Tools 3.0 includes a SSH
transport for NexusDB 2.0, in addition to the SSH transport for NexusDB
1.x that has been in the package from the start.

The SSH transport can be used instead of the SSL/TLS transport from
StreamSec Tools 2.1 in the following cases:

* SSH makes it possible to use private/public key pairs without
certificates. X.509 Certificates must be used for server authentication
with SSL/TLS. In some cases this presents an unnecessary overhead, such
as when the server and the client typically belong to the same
organization and don't necessarily have to rely on a PKI for secure
distribution of server public keys.
* SSH supports security measures against traffic analysis. It makes it
hard to identify clients and harder to tell when application data is
sent over the channel.
* Contrary to SSL/TLS, client public key authentication can be performed
without revealing the identity of the client.
* SSH supports several logical connections over a single TCP/IP socket.
StreamSec Secure Shell Tools makes it easy to take advantage of this by
adding custom sub system protocol to your server, in addition to the
NexusDB sub system.
* SSH is a pluggable architecture and StreamSec Secure Shell Tools
allows you to define custom plug-ins, such as additional schemes for key
establishment, client authentication, bulk encryption, integrity or
compression.
* StreamSec Secure Shell Tools compiles into your executable and
connects directly to the NexusDB server side components. Contrary to SSH
tunnel solutions, this means that you don't have to open additional
ports on the server and don't get a second application that has to be
administrated.

In addition, the big num library used in StreamSec Tools 3.0 has been
optimized for reducing the CPU load when several clients connect at
once. This is important for the reliability of the sever e.g. when
several clients have to connect to the sever simultaneously after a reboot.
