ODBC for linux

My employer has been using Nexus DB for over a decade, we are considering moving to PostgreSQL or some other alternative due to the lack of a linux ODBC driver. In this day and age where docker container deployment is the norm, its quite astounding that linux support for NexusDB is still unavailable.

I found a post from 10 years ago on this forum saying you have no plans to introduce a linux driver due to 'low demand'. I am highly suspicious of this. How can you have low demand for linux ODBC in 2023 where most applications are hosted on linux cloud nodes?

I have no idea what Nexus itself gains from refusing to provide this support but I know for a fact that many services that use NexusDB rely on the lack of a linux ODBC for vendor lock in.

We probably have differing views on what constitutes "most applications".

First, as regards ODBC, we have stopped the development of our own driver and are cooperating with DevArt, who supplies an up to date driver for Windows. If there is great demand for a Linux version, I recommend you contact DevArt with this information.

As regards NexusDB Server itself, it does not yet run on Linux, although research is ongoing and work to support Linux *is* planned. Also work to support Free Pascal/Lazarus is underway.

There are possible alternatives to using ODBC for client connectivity. TMS RemoteDB supports Linux, and support for RemoteDB is built into our standard NexusDB Server.
